What Type of Laser Is Used?
Black Mandala Tattoo Studio utilizes the Nd:Yag 1064nm,532nm, and Q-Switch Ruby 694nm laser hand piece.

Three types of lasers are currently used for tattoo removal: The Q-Switched Ruby Laser (694nm), Q-Switched Nd:Yag Laser (532nmm 1064nm), and the Q-Switched Alexandrite Laser.
Q-Switched Ruby and Alexandrite Lasers are useful for removing black, blue, and green pigments. Q-Switched 532nm Nd:Yag lasers can be used to remove red pigments and the 1064 nm Nd:Yag laser is used for removal of black and blue pigments. With such an array of lasers, Black Mandala has the capability to remove full color scale tattoos as well as black and white tattoos.
Will It Be Painful?
The number one thought that crosses everyone's mind when it comes to tattoo removal is "will it be painful?"
People have compared laser tattoo removal to a small "snap like a rubber band". However, we employ our state-of-the-art Cryogenic Cooling System to ease discomfort (this makes a world of difference) when combined with the utilization of our topical anesthetic cream. Both of these assets allow for the most comfortable experience possible for our clients.
What Can I Expect At My Session?
How Does a Laser Remove a Tattoo?
The number one thing to keep in mind is that each tattoo is different.

A number of factors will determine how many sessions it will take to lighten or fade your tattoo.
Quality and color of ink, quality of tattoo work, type of skin, and reaction to treatment are going to dictate number of sessions you will need. With the (R20) method offered at Black Mandala, one session can allow for up to four passes of the laser.

On average you should expect to be here for an hour to an hour-and-a-half per sitting, depending on how many passes you may need to get.
Our laser oxidizes the ink under the skin and breaks it into smaller particles. These particles are then identified by your bodies immune system as foreign and are removed. We utilize a specialized method (R20) which allows us to pass over your tattoo multiple times per sitting.

Basically, we break up the tattoo with the laser and your bodies natural filtration system removes it.

SESSION MINIMUM
Each session is $160 minimum due to the pre-treatment, laser cost, and aftercare. The price of tattoo removal session can range from a new pair of designer shoes, to a high end computer, and is highly individualized. We offer discounts on session packages!

SIZE OF TATTOO
Send us a photo of your tattoo next to a dollar bill, if possible. This will help us better assess the size and provide an estimated cost for the removal.
